Player Loot:
Neigh Chevaloshad: 2160gp from sold possessions, 10 Goods Capital.
Dryth: 2160gp from sold possessions.
Lisa Wayslay: 2160gp from sold possessions.
Zartuk Windrunner: 2160gp from sold possessions.
Deverdon: 2160gp from sold possessions.
After returning to Rook, Zartuk had spread his tale of defeat to those he thought would be able to help him should he return. Filled with charity and heroics, a group formed around him to go and put an end to the necromancer who had resulted in the deaths of several allies. Gathering supplies, they all set off to where the farmstead was and came across a shoddily built tower made from scavenged scraps of the barn and farmhouse itself. Neigh, using his capabilities to scout the tower, felt the presence of only one individual inside. After lots of discussion they decided the best option was to simply burn the entire tower down. As such the group doused it in oil and set the building ablaze. A couple of the aventurers heard some rocking coming from within the tower as it went up in flames, but paid it no heed. It wasn't till they sifted through the wreckage afterwards that they found the individual had been a manacled child, that of a 6 year old girl, who had in fact been left there in the dark to starve to death in fear and isolation, to aid in making a better undead creature. As such, they had caused her a much swifter, and much more terrifying, death. Good on them. Neigh, feeling terrible that he was partially responsible for this, gathered up her charred remains and wrapped them neatly to place in his howdah for later reincarnation.
Heading of further, they came across the previous entrance to the underground complex and saw 4 corpses skinned in front of it. As they stood there debating what to do, wraiths and shadows ambushed them all and brave Deverdon dropped to the ground, deathly pale as his very strength was drained from him entirely. Dryth, thinking fast, helped restore some of his vitality and stopped the obscene transformation as the incorporeal spirits were blasted away by magic and magical arrows. Edging downstairs, the group saw the supernatural darkness wasn't dispelled by daylight and Lisa was swiped at by a massive glaive from within the darkness itself. Dryth dispelled the darkness to reveal a quartet of phantom armours, their glaives whickering out to punish those who got close. After a short but hard fought battle the adventurers stood triumphant as Neigh proceeded to help heal everyone.
It was at that moment that the Necromancer appeared again, casually fireballing inside the enclosed stone howdah - this made Neigh and Deverdon remarkably sad and somewhat crispy. Reteating before the party could bring punishment to bear, the Necromancer disappeared out of sight. Taking their time, the group investigated the various hallways and doors, inadvertently shooting a mind controlled child when it startled them by opening a door. callously they decided to leave that body behind, and continued their trek through. Finally reaching the main antechamber they found a nightmarish conglomeration, a flesh golem made from the corpses of all the children that were missing. Of the Necromancer there was no sign, and the undead abomination was swiftly put to death, yet again. Ransacking the place for valuables, the group returned to Rook secure that this time they had 'won', though the Necromancer was clearly still at large as they hadn't managed to fully pin him down, Dryth positing that he had simply teleported away...
