After debating as a group, many of those involved in the Psionidari business decided to pay Commander Bergstein a visit to hand Fuerchar over to Orashar and thus largely wash Rook's hands of the problem entirely. When they got there however they found Ben already there and Fuerchar had already left of his own accord to go to Absolshar and convince the city to attack Orashar. Somewhat baffled and/or annoyed by this, the group had a short discussion with Ben and Bergstein before the adventurers headed towards Orashar to speak with the council and determine exactly what was going on. Once there, Lorek immediately started to scry on Fuerchar to work out his location as the party split up, the second half going to meet with the Ruling Council.
Once they got there they found a strange labyrinthine series of corridors and dead ends, and their Psionidari guide took them through until they stood before the conclave itself - a human, half elf, duergar, 4 Psionidari and a 5th Illithid sitting on a dais raised above the rest. Naya launched in to an explanation and series of questions which led to the group being informed that Orashar knew what was going on, what had been going on and had planned for what was to happen - they wished the Drow from Absolshar to wipe themselves out in pointless warfare and thus rid the world of more evil drow. Naya took exception to this blatent desire for genocide, arguing that such Drow didn't have a choice, were misled and could be rehabilitated as they weren't born evil. This was countered, variously, with 'Yes some of them actually are' and 'I don't particularly care as long as drow die'. Baldur, who also had suffered at the hands of Drow, posed a compromise - if they could demonstrate good natured drow, would the Psionidari agree to not wipe out the race as such an act was based on an incorrect premise? The council deemed this acceptable, so Baldur went to Sabien in Rook and acquired a small item belonging to a drow from Orirar, the settlement where nice drow lived underneath nicer halflings. Returning, Baldur offered the item for scrying.
Upon seeing nice drow, the Psionidari council relented though they were somewhat surprised. They did state however that the Drow nearby were clearly evil, so the 'war' was going to go ahead regardless but everyone would be welcome to go there and try to convince them to not attack. Taking up this challenge, Naya led to rest back to Lorek. In this time he had found that Fuerchar and Kreuvathal had convinced the drow of Absolshar, who venerated Lolth in any case, that attacking whilst the Psionidari were weak was a fantastic idea. It was a shame that it was all largely a ruse. By the time everyone got there most of the drow had mobilized, though Naya and friends convinced a sizable number of the civilian population to surrender and remain within the city. Naya decided to harry the army as they travelled, attempting a number of assassinations on key targets to destabilize the army but the control and drive was too strong. Everyone else ported back to Orashar and saw them prepare. Large shields of mental force went up around the city, emanating strong enchantment which seemed long the lines of confusion. For those not strongly willed enough, it would likely pose significant problems. This was however entirely avoided as the adventurers waited outside Orashar. When the drow soldiers turned up, Baldur and his allied fell upon them in a storm of devastation. After no longer than an hour of intense fighting, the battlefield was quiet. Not many more than 100 drow soldiers survived and the commanders were conspicuously absent.
Naya then went to to council to report how the battle went, only to find them in great spirits as they magically watched a female cleric of Lolth destroying her own city with quakes and fire out of the shame of such defeat and being utterly misled and tricked. Naya released this meant every citizen she's convinced to stay behind in safety had likely died in terror, earthquakes and flame. Not the best of ways to surrender it seemed. Since the issue as a whole seemed pretty resolved, the group were happily paid for their part in helping facilitate the death of so many drow, especially Naya. Returning to Rook, the group quickly realized that they'd ended up with quite a few prisoners of war to deal with...
