SUMMARY:
Our heroes were enjoying a pleasant mid-morning in the Golden Plow when a haggard looking older man burst in crying that Demons were attacking his village. The group jumped to assist and he began to lead them on their way. The journey was long and when the man suggested camping for the night the party seemed appalled that he would camp when the town was in danger. They convinced him to move along and entering the silent town at night they crept into the silent town, no light being on. It looked as if the entire town guard had be slaughtered where they stood. At the center of the town a group of nine, now dead soldiers, seemed to have taken down one of the demons which Dryth and Lanward identified as a Hala Demon.
They crept through the town finding nothing but dead bodies when Nym happened upon a guard who seemed to have been sent flying back several feet and was not embedded into the town's barracks wall. He pulled the body out of the wall before moving to the center of town and shouting that they should check out this guy who got thrown back 30 feet. With that Dryth and Lanward heard flapping of wings above them and, being night, only Dryth could see the three demons diving onto the party.
The first demon dive bombed Ashmock beginning to tear at him, while the other two carefully dove, watching the first ones dive. The party spread out as it prepared for the demons descent. A well placed spell by Dryth caused one of the demons to reel in pain and instinctively flap it's wings causing a bolt of electricity to zap Nym.
One of the Demons looked to the north suddenly as if hearing something the rest of the party couldn't and flew off. The remaining flying Demon descended and flapped it's powerful wings knocking Dryth, Lanward, and Lanward's Monster to the ground. The strong stream of wind continued pushing them back until Lanward and his Monster were unconsious but Dryth managed to escape to rescue the fallen Lanward. Dryth managed to blind the thing causing it to flee into the sky and, once it could see, it escaped to the north.
The remaining Demon tore into Ashmock but soon fell to the party. Assessing there was no more danger the party began to search the creature and found a large sack with some random shiny trinkets and gems. Then they searched the town and learned from the Miner that the beasts were heading to the mines to the north. Once they found the Innkeeper, hiding behind his bar, he also informed the group that the guard captain, the remaining guard, and all of the miners who were in the village formed a group to rescue the miners who were in the mine when the town was attacked.
