Faelyn steps out of the inn, following Ebon after his sudden departure. "You seem to be in a rush to leave, is everything allright?"
Denshi steps next to Cydo and also looks over the map.

Shaking his head, Galian will give an amused smile. "It's not enchanted or similar, though I'm fairly sure some of your allies who're outside can give it a look over." His words don't appear to conceal anything to Cydo's knowledge or intuition, though as Cydo knew, you could never be too careful. Standing, Galian opens the door for the remaining pair and nods at them. "Probably best to join your allies and work out between you how you'll approach all the issues, lest you be left behind." he says in a friendly, easygoing manner.
Outside the midday sun shines down pleasantly amidst good weather. Looking round, Ebon can see that aside from a few worn symbols of faith, everything generally looks par for the course for a reasonably sized town. There are several prevailing fashion trends with the occasional variance brought about from other regional clothing or visitors. A passing priest of Desna, as evidenced by the butterfly patterns on her shawl and the starknife on her belt, nods at Ebon as she passes, her nod one of many friendly greetings to multiple people she passes.

Cydo will nod to Galian, then, after studying the map a bit more, he turns to Denshi. "You can hold on to the map for now...I have a feeling you'll be able to keep a better hold of it than I can." He will then follow the rest of the party out of the building.
Zakryk watches the priest as she passes by, then briefly looks at the ground to see if he can recognize her steps. He briefly chastises himself for being both far too jumpy and nowhere near jumpy enough--he thought to himself that, for some reason, he never seems to know whether something is a relevant thing to pursue or just a red herring until it's far too late to act on...and almost always tended to choose wrong.

Zakryk also wishes he could coordinate with his parties better...at least enough that with no notice, he could instantly bring someone with him that won't be likely to drop in one hit. But that would have to be a dream for another time. At this point, he remembers he forgot to cast Mage Armor today...he needs to stop being stingy with that duration. Zakryk then rectifies that and casts Mage Armor on himself. He really hopes no one suddenly freaks out.
He will then turn to Ebon. "So, any ideas on what to check first?" 1d20+11·1d20+6

Ebon looks around in the bright sun light, he reaches into his backpack and pulls out a pair of dark eye glasses. He quietly casts detect magic and looks around to see if there are any other shining beacons of light that stand out. He gives a slight smile to Zakryk,"I believe that it would be best to go some where we can have a private conversation. I can teleport us all to my home in Nyhaven once everyone is here."

Faelyn nods, "Nyhaven would be a safe enough place yes. Although I would recommend being more discrete with your detection magics, it can be hard on the eyes when The Children are involved."
Denshi will take the map and follow along slowly, paying more attention to it than where he is actually going. Eventually he arrives with the others before leaning in and somewhat too loudly whispering, "So uh, these guys seem pretty evil? Or is it just me?"

"Planning our next move away from this area would be nice, yes," Zakryk responds. "As long as we can get there and back quickly, which shouldn't be a problem for you." He then glances at Denshi, admitting to himself that he has a point, again--it is pretty hard to tell who to trust here.
Cydo will have just made it out at this point as the idea of teleporting elsewhere (and difficulty of scanning for magic) is mentioned. "On that topic, I thought about having the map scanned for magic just in case, although I understand if people decide not to."

When Zakryk look to the priest of Desna's steps, he notices that her tracks upon the ground are remarkably light, as if she weighs far less than she appears. Though a few glance his way as he casts an arcane spell, no one moves to accost him. Regardless, a few give him disparaging looks though it's hard to tell whether it's due to the spellcasting or the fact he's clearly not a human.
Ebon similarly gets a few glances as he casts detect magic, though far less so than the kobold. Aside from a faint glimmer upon roughly a tenth of the people around him, Ebon sees nothing overtly blinding. The glimmers he does see seem either tenuous or gentle, like the warm glow of casual faith and comfort.

Ebon Studies the area carefully, he did know if he was going to need to teleport back to this place again, “It seems we are in agreement then, please gather around and I will teleport us to Nyhaven.”
((Assuming everyone gathers around Ebon will cast the teleport.))

Cydo is ready to be teleported - he will wait to describe the tower church thing until they actually get to Nyhavyn.
Zakryk will likewise gather for teleportation.

Ebon casts the teleport spell back to his quarters in the Temple of Mysteries.

((YEA! ON TARGET))
Ebon breaths out in relief now that they have arrived safely. The room that they have arrived in is very nicely appointed. I contains sitting area that with multiple places to sit. There are a multiple shelves filled with books, a writing desk and a rather large piece of what looks like a piece of abstract art filled with scrolls. He gestures slightly and he disguise falls away, exposing himself as an Assimar, he goes towards the door and pulls a cord another minor gesture and the door double doors unlock. He turns back to the party and says "Please make yourselves comfortable." He gives a slight bow, "For those who do not know me I am Ebon, the High Magistar of the Temple of Mysteries."
He smiles to the sorcerer, "To answer your question Zykryk I am fine, although I felt my eyes almost burn out of my head, when I attempted to look at Galian with arcane sight. But I put on my smoked goggles which I had hoped would add a layer of protection to my eyes because I was wondering if there were more of them about. Fortunately I did not see any others about."
Ebon begins to speak again but a knock on the door interrupts him, "Enter" Ebon calls, and a young servant enters, "My Lord?" she says. Ebon replies, "Please bring what ever food and drinks my guests desire and please have prepare rooms for them." He pauses a brief moment in contemplation, "And please let everyone know that they are guests under MY protection..."
The servant says, "Yes my lord I will summon some more servants and do as you ask." She hurries out the door.
Ebon turns back to the group, "So I was under the impression that you have some information for me concerning the Children of Light?" Ebon will take a seat in a rather comfortable chair.

((Since I'm going to be busy next weekend and I don't want to keep trying to Schrödinger the situation, I'm going to say that we haven't entered the temple yet.))
Cydo takes a seat in the room. "Well, I have a lead relating to Shining Children. Through Nyhavyn's portal to Kalem and three days southwest, there is a rather large old temple surrounded by obsidian. Someone suggested I check it out, and it did have a Shining Child when I entered. However, all but one of my group got our eyes blown up after killing it. So, I was hoping to return there with a larger group, and maybe some magic to regenerate missing eyes."

Faelyn will nod to them now that they are in the safety of the temple, "Yes losing ones eyes is a common occurrence when the children are involved, sadly I have found that smoked goggles are of limited protection. Also be wary when we assaulted the Beacon before some of the Shining Adults, various strong variants of the children, were able to do much much more than make your eyes explode. Their light would drain your very self. Also if you would I need to send a message so some other allies of mine. They were helpful with previous encounters with the children. As for that location, it seems very promising we should look into it at the first opportunity." After Faelyn says most of this he stops for a moment looking a bit puzzled. "I figure I should also mention that when he mentioned someone in the room having previously had direct interaction with the Beacon he probably meant when myself and Cydo along with a few other murdered it."
Densi still studying the map nods at everyone speaking but doesn't say much.
((Quick question, at what point is all this taking place? Is Rook doing its best impression of Atlantis yet?))

Cydo looks at Faelyn. "Thanks for reminding me of the negative energy they seemed to use. That was actually the reason I don't have more experience with the Beacon - I was obliterated rather quickly before I could get to the end of that job."
Zakryk looks up. "On the topic of exploding eyes...from what I remember, Regeneration is a pretty high-level spell, so it probably wouldn't work for us to use it to regrow our eyes after every fight. Prevention would be nice, but how best to do that..."

Faelyn's face is pained as he replies, "Really the best option is to invest in scrolls of regenerate. Resistance to flame also seemed to provide some protection. Rings of inner fortitude will also be invaluable."

Ebon says "I have my own Ring, and of course I can provide some protection from fire where needed for all of us. The Death Ward spell can protect against negative energy. I am unfortunately unable to cast that spell. I can of course get scrolls of both Death Ward and Regeneration here at the temple."
Ebon takes a piece of parchment and spends a few moments in contemplation and writes upon it. He folds it up and seals with wax from a hot candle and a symbol from his ring.
He turns back to the group, "It sounds like some of you have encounter them before, could you describe the Children of the Light for me? I would like to do some of my own research here in my library, rather than on the field of battle."
A few servants come in offering refreshment, along with someone directing them all he says, "If you require anything please ask."
Ebon hands him the letter, "Please see that this is delivered." The servant glances at the letter, and hands it off to one of the young men who rushes out the room, "Consider it done m'lord."
Ebon will get an Ale from the proffered drinks and settle back in his chair.
(( I am not sure who it should go to in character, Lazarus perhaps? In any case Ebon will send the letter to where it will do the most good.
The Letter: There seems to be an extra-planer threat to our world in the form of what are called the "Children of Light." My companions and I are going to head up a mission to destroy those that we can soon. Unfortunately I have it on good authority that these horrible creatures frequently cause ones eyes to explode with in there targets head, they also seem to drain the very life essence of the person too. Which seems to require the casting of a regenerate spell to cure. Obvious I know that this would be cured here in Nyhaven, but in the case of when we would like to press on it would be rather inconvenient to return to Nyhaven for treatment. So in the spirit of helping to defer the costs of purchasing Scrolls of regenerate and death ward would be possible for the Government of Nyhaven to supply the scrolls necessary to end this threat to our world?
Or perhaps find someone able to cast those spells for us and accompany us on this mission?
Yours,
Ebon High Magistar of the Temple of Mysteries ))

Cydo tries to recall the Shining Child he met earlier. "The one we fought in the blackstone city looked like a 4-foot tall humanoid. I think it had light skin and a crazed expression, but I can't be sure of much else."
