The gears and cogs start turning in Arlen's head as his friends plant their subtle suggestions, but there were a few significant hitches with that idea: firstly, none of them were knighted and secondly, they lacked the funding for a prospect like this. In truth, Arlen had almost forgotten about his childish dreams and promises he made to himself so long ago... The very reason he took up a sword... But this was much-needed reflection. People out there still needed someone like him and he was going to make a good difference, one way or another. He stood at attention, listening quietly to their exchange before speaking up.
"It is no problem at all; feel free to make yourselves comfortable, there's plenty of room and food to spare. I don't do this for profit anyhow, for there really is none to be had and i'm fine with that. While I do agree that too much power can make one aloof, careless or distant from their fellow man, you must understand that individuals like Rainen, Primrose and Mierre often distance themselves from the city so there's no backlash. When you have otherworldly entities as enemies, one can understand why they would keep away from a city that would have no hope of fighting them."
Arlen rubs his forehead in discomfort; fatigue setting in after a long day today. He sighs and stares off into the distance, but with a smile on his face. He takes back his sword from Turlagh and sheathes it; forgetting the display was over.
"Hmm... A round table of knights? Quite the idea... I like it... By the way Zakryk, there's only one thing we can do in regards to the Rook Guard relationships; we can only try to fix our mistakes. Part of being the good guy is owning up to our faults and taking the consequences that come with it. Still... That idea..."
He turns around, his long red cloak swaying and swirling majestically and the paladin makes way for his room to retire. Turning his head back to Turlagh and Zakryk, Arlen nods and says:
"I think i've got a direction to follow now, thank you for that. Feel free to eat and rest up, goodnight."
