GM:
Kaitos (Bostich)
Adventurers:
Acere (Cleru)
Rin (Invincabal)
Morrigan (Novasry)
Ganges (Xemadus)
Cydo (MjhX)
XP: 3000
Gold: 1320
Loot: (Buy for 50%)
Ring of Feather Falling (buy for 1100 gold)
Cloak of Resistance +1 (buy for 500 gold)
The Cloak bears the Coat of Arms of the Osinov Family. That is Fluff, but might be relevant in some of my sessions.
Contacts:
Mr. Varga (Merchant): He is pretty pissed at you. You took a job and never returned to him.
Lida Osinov: She is very grateful that you returned her family signet ring to her.
Session Report:
Morrigan got contacted by the Dwarf Dumak: His Employer Mr. Varga had located the cave mentioned on the To-Do list. Presumably the Osinov family signet ring would there.
She went to the Plow and found some fellow adventurers willing to go to the merchants mansion to hear him out.
Mr. Varga promised them a generous payment for the retrieval of the signet ring, allowing them to keep other items they might find. He had no clear information what would await our adventurers in the caves and was unwilling to send servants ahead, fearing for their life. He got a little bit evasive when asked about the reason he wanted the Osinov family signet ring so bad. Only mumbling something about it being the key to some greater treasure. The meeting ended a bit tense. Both sides reminded the other that they don't like to be betrayed.
The group went on to the cave. Not far away from the ruins of the Osinov Mansion. They encountered some Bats and a pair of burrowed Maggots and dealt with them without problems. The found a man made hole, leading below, into a small cave with a wooden door. On the other side of the door was a large mosaic of the Osinov Family Coat of Arms and a number of Fire Elementals.
Our adventurers smelled the trap and deal with the elemental without touching the mosaic. The fight went on without problems. Then Rin had the glorious idea to touch the coat of arms, triggering a fire trap. After some harsh words from his comrades, the group managed to get across.
In the next room they encountered a monster that actually blurred reality around it. It looked quite threatening, did change the reality around the party ... and got killed quite easily by Cydos arrows. The group found a large chest containing the signet ring in question and a couple of magic items.
Instead of going straight back to Mr. Varga, Morrigan informed the others that there is actually a living member of the Osinov Family that might have a better claim to her families signet ring. So they went to the ruins and indeed they met teh young woman Lida Osinov.
She told our adventurers about stories her grandfather had told her: How the family signet ring was the key to get to another plane, with vast riches. Morrigan gave her the signet ring, strong in her believe that Lida was the rightful owner. She promised them that she would call on them if the would need any adventurers after figuring out how to get to the other plane.
After a short discussion the group decided not to go back to Mr. Varga at all and hope he would ignore or forget their deeds
