One Bracers of Falcon's Aim is up for grabs for 2500gp. If you want it and can pay, please post below to claim it and note on your character thread as appropriate.
Hanging out in the Golden Plow, the group saw a messenger come in and talk to Big Duade, who took the news somewhat badly and scribbled up a job for the board before counting his beer barrels. When asked what was wrong, his weekly delivery of fine beers and ales was still missing and had been for half a week, when the journey was meant to take 4 days at most. As such Duade was willing to pay a group to go to the snowy north and see what was up. Taking the job, everyone prepared for the colder climate and set off. After a single day of travel the group settled down in the woods north of Rook. It was soon apparent that a grumpy black bear was nearby, so aside from Roald the group proceeded to try and shoo it away, throw rations at it, then hit it with a hammer and spells when it got close. This pissed it off, but eventually everyone won out against the fuzzy threat.
The next day they finally reached the snow, camping down against a cliff face in the evening. Saathe was unpleasantly surprised by a shiv in his side as a sneaky goblin shanked him. He quickly woke the rest as he proceeded to get stabbed more, but hammer and magic won out against the goblin threat. Annoyed, the group went back to sleep and Saathe continued to take watch, this time getting sniped at range by another goblin. This one was considerably harder to shift, but a flaming sphere eventually burnt it to death as Magnus tried to climb out of the cunningly concealed smooth pit that had been in front of the goblin - charging hadn't gone that well. Saathe proceeded to spend the next 5 hours jumping at sounds during the night, and the next day didn't trust much around as clearly danger lurked everywhere.
Going in to the next ravine, Saathe was sure there were threats everywhere. Everyone else, who didn't get his natural 1, gently disagreed with him untill 4 goblins and a bugbear started to shoot. The goblins were swiftly slammed with magic missiles and balls of fire, but the bugbear was made of sterner stuff. With his tongue sticking out of the side of his mouth and squinting, he slammed Saathe with some perfect shots, dropping him. Ilena wasn't safe either, several arrows bringing her down. Roald and Magnus kept their allies alive before a slap fight for the epics took place, as the Bugbear's footing, then greatsword, then sword, then gapple target, then footing, then bow was all greased one after the other. The bugbear was understandably quite pissed off in general.
Eventually he beat a hasty retreat, followed at speed by Magnus on horse. The rest of the group followed more carefully. Magnus reached a goblin encampment and fell down another pit, effectively doing nothing for the rest of the fight. Eventually his allies showed up and with a combination of spells took the poor guy down. The bugbear tried, he tried so hard, but adventurers working as a team are as always a challenge. Rooting around the camp the group found only 2 of the kegs and no sign of the merchant wagons. With the kegs ruined by additional goblin fermentation, the group went north and eventually came in to contact with the next weekly delivery, escorting it back to Rook and back to Duade's payment and thanks.
